I have Despicable Me on the brain constantly.
We own it.
We watch it.
We LOVE it!
What does this have to do with sweatin' off the calories?
Absolutely nothing. Just sayin'
I have many vices.
My BIG one right now is sugar. Evil evil sugar that lurks in my kitchen at every corner.
I usually could care less about what I eat.
I love water. I love veggies and fruit. I love plain Cheerios. Liking the healthy stuff ain't an issue here.
I am in LOVE with sugar!
My massively huge sweet tooth has taken over!
Invaded, conquered...obliterated moderation.
Pepsi Max!
Cinnamon popcorn *drool*
Cinnamon Roll Pop Tarts
Cinnamon Cheerios
Oh and Chick-fil-a....don't get me started! "They put an addictive chemical in it that makes you crave it fortnightly..."
(Thank you Mike Myers for that awesome movie by the way.)
These are my vices that are ALWAYS at my fingertips.
So a wonderfully awesome friend of mine mentioned a movie that I could watch instantly on Netflix.
(I'm always lookin' for a good Netflix fix...My name is Syndee and I am a movie junkie)
Food Inc.
Ever seen it? I have. I will never look at my food the same again. It was educational. Made me wanna move to the country (which is where we'll end up anyway) and raise my own chickens and cows and pigs and grow my own produce.
Wear those sexy overalls and slaughter a cow Napoleon Dynamite style.
My point? Ignorance is bliss sometimes.
But now I can't help but look at my food and wonder what's in it? Where'd it come from? Did it get rinsed in ammonia so my family and I wouldn't get E coli b/c they don't wanna pay to feed their animals grass and if they didn't rinse it in ammonia there'd be another outbreak?
Oops..ranted there...moving on.
You ARE what you EAT.
Well, bah-hum-bug voice in the back of my head!
So that means that 60% of me is Pepsi Max. 10% water, 5% healthy goodies and 25% sugar
Sad.
Now that I'm more AWARE (darn-it) of the stuff I'm stuffing my face with...I'm a little scared.
It's just so easy and cheaper to eat unhealthy than it is to eat right.
FACT...look it up
Solution? Baby steps.
If I were to, lets say diet. I would binge.
I know that since I'm working out on a regular basis again (health permitting) that my sweet tooth will shrink. I'll want the good stuff. I don't know about you, but that's how I work. It's so much easier b/c I'm fueling my body.
When I workout, it's about performance & being in better shape. Which means? Better fuel, better eating habits.
I'm not a diet-er. I eat what I want. Within reason, of course.
But if I want dark chocolate. I'm gonna eat it.
Ice cream at midnight? You bet!
Dieting doesn't rock my world.
I love food.
As long as I'm working out and not bein' too crazy with the sweets (shut it Lindt...I hear ya in the freezer)
I freeze my chocolate...so much yummier that way
I'm fine.
I'm happy.
It works!
So baby steps. Be realistic. Work out. Cut out the sweets a bit. Water.
Enough of my random food ranting.
I did SUPER cool stuff in my Pj's today!
Yay! Wahooooo!
Well, more like tonight. Life is crazy. I get it in when I can. I'd much rather work out in the morning but at 30 I like my sleep way too much!
45 minutes on the elliptical
650 calories burned
How did I feel afterwards?
Out of shape. Sweaty. Red faced. Muscles wanted to cave underneath me. Ouch!
What does that mean to me?
I did my work out right! I'm a firm believer in NO pain NO gain!
Did you bust out the jammies today?
I wanna hear about it. And any other thoughts you might have :)
By the way- this is my randomness to staying accountable.
I like random
Night all
I am the exact way with dieting. Try to eat healthy but hey, are those thin mints in the cupboard?? Ha ha! Anyway, I don't really enjoy working out but I have about 7 lbs to get rid of. Eva just learned to ride a bike so we've been bike riding together and I'll try to post afterwards!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad I'm not alone in the world! Ha! Chloe has a bike but she won't ride it. She'd rather run around like a crazy dinosaur. Crazy girl. I'd love to be able to ride bikes with her...maybe when it stops snowing here we can give it a whirl!
ReplyDeleteOH Crap!
ReplyDeleteYou may have just motivated me to cut out sugar!
Thanks ALOT! ;)
I guess it's payback to introducing Food Inc.
Sorry 'bout 'dat!
Love you girl,
MJ

p.s. have i ever told you you're inspiring and should write a book? i believe so !!!!
i learned a few years back that pre-packaged and pre-prepared frozen foods were bad for me. they trigger my migraines but every now and then i slide back into old habbits (like this week) cause it's just sooo easy and sooo cheep. with playdate/preschool classes, speech therapy, bible studies, workouts, and your normal house choores on top of any special projects you might want to do it's hard to cook EVERYTHING from scratch. that takes extra time and planning not to mention money. Espechially if you live on an island like i do. But it's a committment i'm gong to have to make since in the last week of cheeting i've not only gotten more migraines but i've gone from seeing one tiny dot of an "aura" to something more like snow on a tv screen (like when we were kids and the station stopped broadcasting for the night. Also, in one short week of cheeting my success of moving in a beltloop has lost all it's headway. So back into the gear with my nose to the grindstone I go next week.
ReplyDeletefor this weeks workouts I was soooo exausted I didn't walk up the hill but once. but i did walk every night. only half as far as usual cause i ran out of time or cause it started raining. and on thursday my hubby went with me and he pused the stroller cause i had a migraine, but i still walked! I'm determined! (that and i was afraid if we didn't the change in routine would cause my son to refuse to go to sleep, lol).
